How to send broadcast messages
One of the more powerful features of Dialed is the ability to send broadcast messages.
Broadcast messages are text messages that are sent to many people, but unlike a group message each message is sent individually, so any subsequent communication will happen in a 1-1 text thread.
Broadcast messaging is perfect for letting your customers know about a sale or other offers from your business, or just an easy way of notifying your customers about anything in an easy and authentic way.
There are 2 main ways to compose a broadcast message.
Compose a broadcast message to a group label
- Navigate to your contacts
- Tap the "Label" icon in the top right of the view
- For the group label you want to send to, tap the Label
- Optionally add individual contacts to this Label by tapping the [+ person] button in the top right
- Tap "Send a message to this group"
- You will be taken to the message composer with information about the group you are broadcasting the message to
- Type your message and tap "send"
Compose a broadcast message to individually selected contacts
- From the inbox tap the compose new message icon in the top right of the view
- Tap the [+] icon in the recipient field
- Search for contacts and add them. A checkmark will appear by their name or number, and a button at the bottom will display "Add [the number selected] recipients.
- You will be taken back to the message composer with information about the group you are broadcasting the message to
- Type your message and tap "send"
After your message has been sent you will see a "receipt" in the inbox, Tap on it to see a list of people the message was sent to and the contents of the message. Anyone who replies to the message will show up as a unique text message thread in the inbox. You can tap into that conversation and reply as you normally would.
